At the European Union level, there is a visible trend towards harmonizing regulations that have so far remained solely within the competence of individual Member States in the field of gambling. New legal acts, such as MiCA, AMLR, the 6th AML Directive, the AMLA Regulation, and the AI Act, introduce uniform standards in the areas of crypto-assets, anti-money laundering, and the use of artificial intelligence. These changes increase obligations for operators but may simultaneously foster market stability and growth within the gaming sector across the European Union.
