Polish law provides for severe sanctions against individuals participating in gambling organized by illegal operators, including both fiscal-criminal fines and administrative penalties. Despite this, the black market continues to thrive, partly due to high taxes on legal gambling, players’ lack of awareness about operators’ status, and more attractive offers from illegal entities. Playing with such operators, however, carries risks – the absence of legal protection in the event of unpaid winnings and the lack of responsible gambling mechanisms can lead to significant financial losses and addiction.
