Poland: More for the Taxman, less for the Players

The government plans to raise the tax on winnings from games of chance, betting, and lotteries from 10% to 15% and extend it to winnings earned abroad starting in 2026. However, this change could make it harder to combat the grey market and may push players toward illegal operators. While the reform aims to increase state budget revenues, there is a risk that it could have the opposite effect and weaken the legal gaming market.
